Mina HorsfallMina Horsfall turns heads each time she steps out. But despite her jaw dropping beauty, the Rivers State-born model cum actress has her own pains. She has suffered heartbreaks a number of times. In this chat with Entertainer, the former Miss Value Nigeria vows not to give up on love, as she describes herself to be “single and free like a bird in the sky”. Excerpts:

Tell us about your background?
My name is Mina BJ Samuel Horsfall. I am from Rivers State. I am a graduate of English from the Lagos State University (LASU). I am a model and actor.

How was your growing up?
Growing up was fun. I grew up under strict parents, but I had the best childhood memories. I am grateful to my parents for that.

At what age did you venture into acting and modelling?
I started acting and modelling in 2003, at the age of 17.

How did you become Miss Value Nigeria?
On a fateful day in 2008, I walked into a bank for a transaction in Abuja and I saw the advert for the Miss Value Nigeria beauty pageant. I picked up a form instantly, participated in the pageant and eventually won. I won the pageant because of my sound intellect. I got my questions right; my costumes and my smiles also helped a lot.

What were the challenges you faced as teen model?
I never really faced any challenge apart from the fact that you go for too many casting calls for billboards and TV commercials. You might stay all day and not get chosen or even get substituted for someone when it’s time to shoot, without apologies.
Which movie did you act lately?
My most recent job is a TV series entitled, Dilemma Of Love. I played the lead character in the series; as usual I played a spoilt brat. Aside this, I have also featured in Red Night, My House Help, Under The Sky, Beyonce and Rihanna, King of the Town, Area Mama, The Empress, Girls in the Hood, Return of Boys Scot, Rush Hour, and Heart of Deceit among others. Most of these movies I featured alongside Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Genevieve Nnaji, Ramsey Noah, Ashley Nwosu, Pete Edochie, Monalisa Chinda, Uche Jombo, Mercy Johnson, and Tonto Dikeh.

How do you feel about the award you received recently?
It’s such an amazing feeling. I feel really blessed. I am happy because the award came on my 30th birthday. I am dedicating the award to my mum, dad of blessed memory, my siblings and cute little nieces because they have shown me unconditional love and support.

Do you have any advantage as a beauty queen when it comes to getting movie roles?
I easily get noticed because of my look and charisma. So yeah, it helped a lot.

If you want to flaunt your endowments which part of your body is most sexy?
My legs.

A lot of men would hardly take their eyes of you, how do you handle your male fans?
I appreciate their admiration nicely, because I also admire beautiful ladies and good-looking men.

Are you into any relationship now and who is the lucky man in your life?
I am single, so single and free like a bird in the sky.

If you are not in a relationship, how then do you control your sexual urge?
I get busy or read books.

What does sex mean to you?
Sex is sacred and spiritual, and has to do with two minds, bodies and souls.

Does that mean you hardly have sex except you are in a relationship?
Sure.

Would you marry a man in the same industry with you?
Of course, yes.

What is your ideal man?
A God fearing, humble and generous man will have a chance with me.

Who is your celebrity male crush and what do you like about him?
Don Jazzy. I love his eyebrow, eyeballs and voice.

Have you ever been heartbroken?
Yes, I have been heartbroken. I am always heartbroken (Laughs). Well, that’s what happens when you fall in love with a man that cannot be yours.

Have you encountered female toasters?
Yes, I have and they are everywhere. But I don’t do ladies. I am into men.

What’s your impression about beauty pageants especially when you are asked to catwalk in a bikini?
For starters, no pageantry requires nudity, but yes bikini parade is allowed. It’s just about you feeling good about your sensuality.

What should your fans expect from you soon?
They should watch out and follow me on my Instagram, @Ladyminahorsfall, for updates on my activities.
