Pan Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, has condemned Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari over his nationwide broadcast to address the issues of #EndSARS protests and the unrest that follows.
The group’s spokesman, Yinka Odumakin described Buhari’s speech as the height of wickedness.
Buhari had yesterday urged #EndSARS protesters to put an end to their demonstrations across the country and that the government has heard their voice loud and clear.
Mr. Odumakin blamed hoodlums who had hijacked the peaceful protests to cause havoc on Nigerians while he lamented that Buhari’s speech was full of sound and fury.
In a statement he issued, the Afenifere’s spokesman berated the president over his failure to make reverence to the Lekki toll gate shooting in Lagos State on Tuesday.
“The speech was full of sound and fury. For the president to be issuing warnings and threats at this period is the height of wickedness.
“For him not to say a word on Lekki is the height of hard-heartedness. He didn’t show any sign of a democratic president but a military dictator,” he said.
