Olayomi Koiki, Media Aide to the Yoruba Youths Leader (YYL) and Yoruba rights activist, Sunday Adeyemo well known as Sunday Igboho, has alerted the public that gunmen attacked the residence of the activist in the early hours of Monday.

There were reports of sporadic shootings around the Soka, the Ibadan residence of Igboho, as some heavily armed gunmen stormed the area.

Koiki, in a viral video shared on the Facebook, claimed that the residence of the youths leader and activist was stormed by men of the Nigeria Army with the aim of arresting him.

In the video, Koiki said: “There is a situation right now where the Federal Government of Nigeria tried to invade our residence. We are telling the world that the war that the Federal Government is waiting for might start today.

“The war that the Federal Government think they are expecting from the Yoruba people; let’s tell the whole world. As I speak to you, there is an ongoing incident but we are more than capable.

“We cannot be caught unguarded. You cannot threaten us. Chief Sunday Igboho is fine.”

You may recall that official security agents had in February allegedly attempted to arrest Igboho along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

Also, there were reports of attempts by IGP’s agents to invite the activist to Abuja with the aim of arresting him there.
