Oyo state governor, Oluseyi Makinde and his family held the funeral service for their mother, Chief (Mrs) Abigail Omojolagbe Amope Makinde (nee Omoregie) at the Cathedral of St. Peter, Aremo, Ibadan, on Friday December 4.
The burial ceremony which was held over the weekend in Ibadan had a lot of dignitaries in attendance, among them were Nigerian Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo; his wife, Dolapo Osinbajo and twelve state governors.
Makinde, through his Twitter handle, thanks everyone who came to Ibadan on Friday to attend the funeral ceremony and honour his mom. He especially thanks His Excellency, @ProfOsinbajo, the Vice President, his wife, Mrs Dolapo Osinbajo and the entourage from the Presidency.
He also used the platform to thank his brother Governors: @GovernorAUF, @MrUdomEmmanuel, @IAOkowa, @GovernorObaseki, @kfayemi, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, @jidesanwoolu, @dabiodunMFR, @RotimiAkeredolu, @GboyegaOyetola, @GovWike and @AWTambuwal, and their wives.
As can be seen through the types of ‘aso ebi’ below, the ceremonies covered were the service of song, the church service and thanksgiving.
