Bello El-Rufai, son of the governor of Kaduna state, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, has tendered an apology, days after threatening to pass someone’s mother around to his friends, a threat many likened to gang rape.
Recall that on Sunday, April 12, Bello, in a series of tweets, had lashed out at some Twitter users and used comments many considered as ethnic slurs in his tweets after they argued about Donald Trump and Presient Buhari’s leadership skills in managing the Coronavirus pandemic.
He had also threatened to pass the mother of one of the Twitter users to his friends, in a direct message he sent to him.
“Tell your mother I’m passing her to my friends tonight,” he had written in the direct message.
But because of the huge backlash he received from many Nigerians, and after his mum who initially supported him, backtracked and apologized, Bello has now seen reason and has offered an apology for his tweets.
He also apologised for attacking an ‘entire ethnic group’ during his Twitter rant on that Sunday.
