The rapper premiered the controversial video before a sold-out crowd of 17,000 people in Los Angeles as the video showed wax figures of Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Amber Rose, Donald Trump, Chris Brown, Caitlyn Jenner, Bill Cosby, George W. Bush, Anna Wintour, Ray J, Kim Kardashian West, and Kanye himself. All unclad.
Whilst the celebrities themselves look incredibly realistic, it was revealed that they are in fact, wax figurines. The video’s aesthetic is said to be inspired by Vincent Desiderio’s painting ‘Sleep’.
First to react to his inclusion in the video was Chris Brown–but it wasn’t with outrage. “Why I gotta have the plumbers b*tt/crack showing WAX figure?????,” Breezy captioned on Instagarm alongside a still from the video. “This n—- KANYE CRAZY, talented, but crazy ????”.
Others like Taylor Swift were not amused. According to Hollywood Life, “Taylor is horrified [by the ‘Famous’ music video]. Taylor didn’t know what to do when she heard about what Kanye did. She is bewildered, feels betrayed and is beyond frustrated with Kanye. It is like a complete nightmare. Taylor is pissed to say the least!”
Also, not happy about her inclusion in the video is Rihanna. Like other celebrities, the Barbadian beauty is featured unclad in bed with other stars, except, in Rihanna’s case, she is shown next to former U.S. President George W. Bush and presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump. The pop star didn’t issue an official statement, but a source dished about Rihanna’s reaction during an exclusive interview with Hollywood Life Monday.
“She doesn’t know what the hell Kanye was thinking when he decided to throw them in the picture,” the source said. “Surely, he could have chosen other politicians.”
However, former U.S. President, George W. Bush has decided to clear the air. Pigeons and Planes reports that a representative for the former president stated: “In case there was any doubt … that is not President Bush. He is in much better shape.”
