The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, during the board policy meeting on Friday, listed the Federal University, Oye Ekiti (FUOYE) alongside the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), the University of Lagos (UNILAG) and the Lagos State University (LASU) as the most-sought universities following an appraisal of its 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations.

Oloyede said the rating followed the high number of applicants to the schools during this year’s UTME application period.

The Federal University, Oye Ekiti (FUOYE), Ekiti State, has described the news of being ranked as the fourth most sought-after university in Nigeria as a step in the right direction.

A statement said FUOYE had been competing favourably with the first-generation universities, making it attractive to admission seekers following its stable academic calendar.

FUOYE is one of the nine federal universities established by the administration of the then President Goodluck Jonathan in 2011.
