The burial service for late Mrs. Funke Olakunrin, daughter of the leader of Pan Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, took place at St. David’s Anglican Church, Ijomu, in Akure, the Ondo State capital on Monday, July 22.
In attendance were, the Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu; his counterparts from Ogun, Lagos, Ekiti and Oyo, Prince Dapo Abiodun; Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu; Dr. Kayode Fayemi; Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde; former Governor of Ondo State, Dr Olusegun Mimiko and other dignitaries.
Mrs Olakunrin was shot and killed by armed bandits suspected to be Fulani herdsmen along the Benin-Ore Road, on Friday July 12.
Aged 58, she is survived by her aged father, husband, Idowu Olakunrin, children and grandchildren. May her soul rest in peace, amen.
