Barely four months after the death of Hajiya Aisha Jummai Alhassan, aka Mama Taraba, a former Nigerian Minister of Women Affairs, her younger brother, a former Nigerian senator, Abubakar Abdulazeez Ibrahim has also died.
He died on Tuesday in his house in Jalingo after a brief illness, aged 64.
Abubakar was elected twice into the Senate, and represented Taraba central senatorial zone between 1999 and 2007.
He was also a two-time gubernatorial candidate in the state.
According to a statement from his family, funeral prayer was scheduled to be conducted at 1.30 pm at the palace of Emir of Muri.
He will be buried at Jika da Fari burial ground, where his late sister, Jummai was also laid to rest.
