A judge, sitting at the federal capital territory (FCT) Abuja, Nigeria, Tuesday, sentenced a former governor of Plateau State, Joshua Dariye, to 14 years in prison.
The judge found him guilty of misappropriating N1.16 billion Ecological Fund meant for the state. Justice Banjoko also found Senator Joshua Dariye guilty of criminal breach of trust as regards N250 million issued to Pinnacle Communications emanating from the state’s Ecological Fund.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commision (EFCC) made the announcement on its Twitter page; a development that came three weeks after another ex-governor, Jolly Nyame of Taraba state, was convicted and sentenced for fraud.
