Former Nigerian Minister of Aviation as well as former Minister of Youths, Sports, and Culture, from Rivers State, Nigeria, Mr. Alabo Tonye Graham-Douglas is dead.

He was born on 8th May 1939 and hails from Abonnema in the Akuku-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Graham-Douglas was appointed Nigeria’s Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture in 1989, then Minister of Aviation during General Ibrahim Babaginda’s cabinet.

In 1999, he was appointed Minister of Labour and Productivity, and in 2000, Minister of Tourism in the Olusegun Obasanjo cabinet, leaving office in January 2001.

News of his death filtered into Port Harcourt, Rivers State on Monday morning, though there is no official confirmation from the family, he has been battling an undisclosed ailment for sometime.
