
Former Nigerian boxer, Jeremiah ‘Jerry’ Okorodudu has passed away after battling foot ulcer.
His wife, Adenike Okorodudu, confirmed the unfortunate news on Wednesday night.
Jerry, who competed in the men’s middleweight event at the 1984 Summer Olympics, died at a private hospital in Lawanson, Lagos, Nigeria.
He died on Wednesday night after battling with foot ulcer and a stroke that left him bedridden for weeks.
Okorodudu’s wife, Adenike confirmed the news of his death to newsmen.
The private hospital in Lawanson has seized the corpse of the former Nigerian boxer.
Adenike said the hospital was not willing to release her husband’s corpse until the outstanding N600,000 medical bill is paid.
“He is dead now but we still need to pay N600,000 to get his body out of the hospital,” Adenike said.
