A heartwarming moment has captured the internet’s attention, as a video of Cameroonian football legend and President of the Cameroonian Football Federation, Samuel Eto’o, recognising a former teammate now working as a security guard goes viral.

Eto’o had attended an event in Douala and was leaving when several fans gathered outside, wanting to chat and take photos.

As Eto’o greeted each person, a security guard called his name and he turned waved and started to walk away before recognition hit.

“Oooo. Bobo!” Eto’o hailed the security guard and they shook hands and hugged.

“He was my colleague, I played with him,” Eto’o explained to the people with him.

He then looked at his watch and said some words to the security guard in their language before leaving.

However, Keke, tweeting as @corenti67008438, explained, “He Said: we need to meetup, we can’t speak right now because I have meetings in 10 minutes but tell Christian (assistant of Eto’o and friends of both) to do everything we meetup we gonna speak my friend. I’m happy to see you.”

The touching moment has drawn widespread admiration on social media, with many users praising Eto’o for his humility.
