There was fire outbreak at the “E” arrival wing/terminal of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos at about 1.13pm yesterday, Wednesday , April 1. The smoke was quickly traced to some offices at the E wing on the ground floor of the terminal by a combined team of FAAN’s electrical engineers and fire officers. Investigations have commenced to ascertain the cause of the fire.
The airport authority in a statement said the traveling public and other airport users were in no immediate danger as a result of the incident and neither did it affect flight operations at the terminal. Some reports have it that the fire started from NDLEA department while some say the fire only affected the department. The most important of it all is that the fire was successfully put out.
