A fire outbreak at Olulosun dumpsite in the Ojota area of Lagos state led to traffic lockdown on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Wednesday evening.
The cause of the fire is not yet known but some vehicles were reportedly destroyed. Many motorists and commuters were stranded as the fire raged for hours, while thick smoke bellowed in the sky.
Fire fighters struggled to put out the inferno without any much success.
