On Sunday, April 3, the creme de la creme of the Nigerian society gathered to celebrate the 90th birthday of Lady Doja Otedola, mother of billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola.
The celebration had in attendance former Nigerian president, Olusegun Obasanjo; Nigerian Vice president, Prof Yemi Osinbajo; Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos state, Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State, Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti state, former Senate President, Bukola Saraki; Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote; CBN governor, Godwin Emefiele; and many other dignitaries.
The birthday celebration doubled as the commissioning of a new church building developed by the celebrant.
In a documentary reel, Lady Doja who is a former first lady of Lagos state, said she received a prophecy that she would live to see her 90th birthday, and on hearing that prophecy, the dedicated catholic vowed to build a church for the community and laid the foundation on May 29, 2020.
The church, St Peters Catholic Church, replaces the old one which was already in dire need of more space. The new church is spacious and decorated to depict the tradition of the Catholic church with murals of the Son of Man and disciples on the walls.
