Fayose Swears-In 3 Commissioners, 16 LG Caretaker Chairmen

Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Ayodele Fayose on Monday took another major step at boosting governance and grassroots development in the state by swearing-in three commissioners and sixteen local council caretaker chairmen to steer the affairs of the sixteen constitutionally recognized local government in the state.

The three commissioners are Mr. Toyin Ojo, Ministry of Finance, Mr. Kayode Oso, Ministry of Works and Barrister Owoseni Ajayi as the state Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice.

Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony of the commissioners held at the Executive Chambers in the Governor’ Office, Fayose said the three ministries were central to the implementation developmental blue print of his administration, hence the need to put capable and trusted men in the saddle of the key ministries.

He said all the three men are experienced, tested and trusted individuals who are not new in governance affairs, more so that they had served in the same capacity and ministries during his first term in office.

“I need these experienced and trusted hands to make a difference. I cannot afford to fail Ekiti masses who gave me the uncommon opportunity to serve them again”, the governor explained.

Urging the new commissioners to be loyal, assiduous, and committed to the onerous task of ensuring overall development of Ekiti, the Ekiti helmsman reiterated his administration’s commitment to the welfare of the common man so that the people who freely gave him their mandate will have no regret.

Governor Fayose who warned his detractors and those collaborating to frustrate his government to desist and join hands with his government for their own benefit and that of the entire Ekiti citizenry said antagonizing his government by anybody or group will amount to efforts in futility.

Speaking on behalf of the other new commissioners, Mr. Toyin Ojo who said that God rules in the affairs of men noted that their re-appointments into the various ministries where they served in the past was as divine as the re-election of Mr. Governor.

He thanked Governor Fayose for the trust and confidence reposed in them with an assurance that they will all work diligently and make their vast experience to bear in their various ministries.

Meanwhile, Dr. Ayodele Fayose has charged the newly sworn-in Caretaker Chairmen to ensure that they loyalty service with service and ensure that people at the grassroots really enjoy the dividends of democracy.

He said the constitution recognized and made proper arrangements for three tiers of government to make the task of governance less cumbersome for the benefit of the masses.

The governor who said the main reason of appointing the caretaker chairmen was to let the masses, especially at the grassroots, begin to enjoy the government with effect from the coming yuletide season urged them to ensure that adequate provision were made for the people to enjoy the Christmas.

Calling for the support and cooperation of the traditional rulers for his government and the caretaker chairmen, Fayose said his government will continue to accord them their due respect and give their welfare top priority.

The Caretaker Chairmen are Alhaji Dauda Ajise, Ado ; Mr. Peter Daramola, Efon; Mr. Dele Faleye, Ekiti East; Mr. Joseph Olowo, Ekiti South West; Elder Moses Olasanmi, Ekiti West; Mr. Joseph Adebayo, Emure; Mrs. Funke Odunlade, Gbonyin;.

Others are Mr. Ayodeji Odutola, Ido/Osi; Mr. Sesan Owoeye, Ikere; Mr. Adeyanju Adeyeye, Ikole; Hon. Abiodun Dada, Ijero; Mr. Oladimeji Joshua Ayo, Ilejemeje; Mr. Toyin Alaje, Ise/Orun; Pastor Olowoyo Sunday, Irepodun Ifelodun; Chief Oluwole Ajibola, Oye and Mr. Adeniyi Adebayo for Moba Local Government Area.
