Why House is probing legality of special presidential panel – Dogara

Ex-Speaker of Nigeria’s House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and returned to his former party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).

An aide to the former speaker confirmed the development to newsmen on Friday.

Also announcing the development to State House correspondents on Friday, the chairman of the APC Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Committee, Mai Mala Buni, said the President, Muhammadu Buhari, was happy seeing Dogara return to the party.

Buni led him to a meeting with Buhari on Friday to announce his return to the APC.

“He (the President) welcomed him. He is happy with the development. That is what he’s looking for, Buni said.

Mr Dogara had in 2018 dumped the APC for the PDP after having political confrontation for about two years with the former governor of Bauchi State, Mohammed Abubakar.
