Emir of Rano in Kano State, Nigeria, Alhaji Tafida Abubakar Ila Auta Bawo has passed away.
The traditional ruler died on Saturday at a hospital in Kano.
Turakin Rano and House of Representatives member representing Rano, Kibiya, and Bunkure Federal Constituency, Alhaji Kabir Alhassan Rururm, confirmed the death of the monarch.
He said the late emir would be buried this evening in the emirate.
The cause of the late Emir’s death is not known at the time of this report.
Rano is one of the four additional emirates created some months ago by the Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje.
He signed into law the bill he sent to the state House of Assembly for the creation of four new emirates in the state and appointed their emirs immediately.
