The three-man panel of the Court of Appeal, Abuja Division, led by Justice Stephen Adah, arrived the court room on Thursday at 7.05pm to deliver the judgment on the dispute arising from the July 14, 2018 governorship election in Ekiti State which the Independent National Electoral Commission declared was won by Governor Kayode Fayemi.
The Peoples Democratic Party and its governorship candidate in the election, Mr. Olusola Eleka, had filed their petition before the Ekiti State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal which sat in Abuja, to challenge Fayemi’s victory at the poll.
The tribunal, on January 28, 2019, dismissed Eleka and PDP’s appeal and affirmed Fayemi’s election as declared by INEC.
