Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari, has sworn in eight new permanent secretaries into the Federal Civil Service.
The new permanent secretaries took their oaths of office just before the commencement of The Federal Executive Council meeting on Wednesday at the executive council chambers in the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Those sworn in are Abel Enitan, Mohammed Dikwa, Magdalene Nwauwuche and Festus Dauda.
The rest are Maurice Mbaeri, Bakare Wadinga, Babatunde Lawal and Ernest Umakhihe.
Speaking immediately after he supervised the swearing in of the new appointees, president Buhari reminded them of the need to be committed to public service and the challenge of winning the trust and confidence of the citizens who they have been called to serve.
He warned against abuse of trust and asked them to key into his administration’s programs of fighting corruption, reviving the economy and ending the insurgency.
The new permanent secretaries were appointed and screened in November 2018.
