It has been proven that people who drink water before bedtime should try as much as possible to stay away from it a couple of hours before going to bed. The reason for this is that water intake directly before going to bed can put extra work on the kidneys which makes them, instead of being inactive when you’re asleep, continue to function making you wake up several times in a single night to urinate.
Research has shown that it is not medically advisable for one to drink water less than two hours before bedtime. So, for that reason, you should endeavor to drink water when you are sure it wouldn’t make the kidneys work harder than they should when you’re sleeping thus disrupting your sleep quality and by extension overall health.
