EFCC official desecrates my Holy Bible as I was offered amnesty to join APC, says Femi Fani-Kayode

Femi Fani-Kayode, detained former Aviation Minister and a member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has accused the government of President Muhammadu Buhari of practically fighting to silence the voices of Christians, saying that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) should be seen as anti-Christ, persecuting Christians while PDP Muslim governors in the North are still walking freely.

He disclosed this in a message to Nigerians and Christians after he was molested on Tuesday by an Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) officer who picked offence when the former minister related with God through the name Jesus. “He threw my Bible to the floor. If it were to be the Quran, will he do that? The head of whoever did that would have been at the gate of Aso Rock by now,” Fani-Kayode quipped.

In a statement he wrote on a sheet of paper and gave to another officer, who is believed to be a member of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, he said, “This message should be taken to Apostle Johnson Suleiman, Founder, OMEGA Fire Ministry. I had a revelation that they are planning to attack him, because he is one of the major voices crying out for justice in the body of Christ.”

He asked: “What has the Bible got to do with my case with the EFCC; Why are they keeping me here when we have a competent court to prove if I am guilty or not?”

“Give this to my Secretary and He should ensure this message gets across my Facebook friends and ministers of God.”

He admitted that: “God willing, I am in custody of EFCC today. But to me, it is a great time to commune with God just the way Paul and other brethren did in their days. I am here not only because my party gave me money to campaign for them like every other politicians, even in the APC. But if it might interest you to know, what is going on is the persecution of Christians. The Muslims are out to persecute the Christians.”

He said further: “God willing, the Dark Age will soon be over. They refused taking me to court to defend my civil right. They want to keep me for the next four years. But they don’t know it is dangerous. I now have time to pray more, study more, and even meditate.”

He made it known that the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, offered him an amnesty to decamp to APC, before he was arrested but he rejected the request, saying: “I refused because I know who I am. No man can cover your sin for you. If I am guilty, I will surely come out strong.”

While criticising the series of arrest which has been made under President Buhari, Fani-Kayode said: “It is not just anti-corruption fight. Where are the PDP governors and leaders from the North? They are walking freely today. I am blowing the whistle now for Christians to go on their knees. This was how I warned my brothers against Modu Sheriff whose mission is to destroy the PDP and give room for Buhari to install one party system. We gave them opportunity to be in the opposition, and they should not deprive us of such right if they do not have ulterior motives. A democratic system without vibrant opposition is said to be a dictatorship. God willing, I will be alive to witness Nigerians clamoring for referendum like what took place in great Britain. And such referendum will tell if we truly saw the future under President Buhari’s government. Arresting Kayode is their greatest achievement.”

Fani-Kayode also warned that secret plots to eliminate top politicians and pastors who are Christians are ongoing. He opined further that, “Tukur was right when he raised alarm that a meeting was held in Dubai to overthrow Jonathan by all means. Obviously, part of what they discussed at the meeting is what Aregbeshola and El-Rufai are displaying in their various states.

“I am not an infidel and I will never be one. I am a man of dignity. I will not stop fighting even here in prison. I am the John the Baptist of my generation. I will not keep mute and watch anti-Christ imposing policies that are not friendly.

“For me, God used them to keep me here, in order to prepare for the challenges ahead. Today is pregnant. Let’s see what tomorrow will deliver. They were not elected to be permanent. They have maximum of 8 years to stay. And it is already counting,” Fani-Kayode added.
