Nigerian medical doctor, Christabel Akinola @drbelswellness, has shared the story of a sad incident that occurred at the hospital where she works while warning parents against being too strict on their kids.
She revealed that a child went to play with his brother and he returned home with a cut but lied to his father that he got it while doing the dishes.
His father scolded him for being careless and left it at that.
After a month, the boy began displaying rabies symptoms and was taken to the hospital where he was still afraid to open up to his parents.
By the time his brother confessed that the scratch was from a dog, it was too late to save the boy and he d!ed.
The doctor revealed that if the boy had opened up earlier, he would have been saved with just a prophylaxis shot.
She warned parents to avoid being so strict to the point where their children are afraid to open up to them.
