A police officer was filmed assaulting a young man in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. In the viral video, the gun-totting officer is seen using a cane to flog the man.
“Why are you flogging me? Did I steal?” the man asks the officer in pidgin English. The man then collects the cane from the officer who then proceeds to slap him twice on the face and orders him to walk to his car.
The second police officer at the scene is spotted rough handling the slapped man’s female companion.
Viewers have expressed outrage after watching the video and are questioning why police brutality has not abated.
