The deposed Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has filed a lawsuit against the Inspector General of Police, Adamu Mohammed and the Department of State Security (DSS), over his post-dethronement detention in a home in Awe community in Nasarawa state.

Sanusi through his legal team led by Lateef Fagbemi SAN, filed the suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/357/2020 before the Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday, March 12.

The former monarch was dethroned by the Kano state governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, on Monday March 9 and was taken to Nasarawa state where he is to remain on ‘exile.’

The Kano state Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice has come out to say that Kano state govt did not banish the former Emir. That statement is difficult to believe because, if they did not do so, why did they take him to Nasarawa state and against his will?
