A Magistrate court sitting in Yaba, Lagos State, has remanded singer Azeez Fashola, aka Naira Marley and Balogun Eletu, aka Sam Larry in police custody for 21 days.
At the court sitting, the Lagos police requested that both suspects be remanded for 30 days pending investigation completion over the death of Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, aka Mohbad.
Singer Mohbad died on 12th September 2023 in Lagos and was buried the next day, an incident that sparked public outrage.
In her ruling, the Chief Magistrate, Adeola Olatunbosun, held that the suspects be remanded for just 21 days.
Following the ruling, Naira Marley and Sam Larry, wearing nose masks, were seen in a video clip on Instagram descending the Magistrate court room.
Actress Tonto Dikeh made a video with a caption: “Naria Marley and Sam Larry have both been remanded for 21 days! At this point I’ll like to say thank you to the Magistrate.”
