Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has, via Twitter, disclosed in its daily coronavirus update that deaths recorded from the pandemic in Nigeria rose to 68 on Friday night.

Also, according to the Centre’s coronavirus Situation Dashboard on its website, coronavirus deaths have been recorded in the Federal Capital Territory Abuja and 16 states.

Total number of coronavirus deaths reported in Lagos State as of Friday, May 1, was 28, the highest among all the states in the country, including the FCT, Abuja.

 

Sokoto and Borno States followed with seven and six fatalities respectively while Abuja, Edo, Osun and Kano States have recorded three deaths each.

Two coronavirus patients have died in each of Katsina, Oyo, Delta, Akwa Ibom and Rivers States while Ekiti, Kaduna, Zamfara, Jigawa and Ogun States have also recorded one fatality each.

The NCDC stated that the total number of confirmed infections in the country spilt over 2000 on Friday night while 351 recoveries have been reported.

No one can predict what will happen to control of coronavirus when the lockdown relaxation takes effect in Lagos, Ogun and FCT, Abuja as from Monday, May 4.
