Chief Judge of Ekiti State, Nigeria, Justice John Adeyeye, escaped death on Wednesday, when a section of the state high court complex collapsed on him while in the office.
Adeyeye was still in his chamber while the unfortunate incident occurred.
The incident caused palpable tension and apprehension around the premises of the court located at Fajuyi area of the State capital.
One of the personal aides of the chief judge, who also spoke on the incident, said the CJ was seriously injured during the incident, but he is currently in a stable condition and responding to treatment at an undisclosed hospital.
The wall collapse is likely connected to the structural deficit caused by the recent heavy rainfalls.
