Chelsea fell 2-1 to West Ham on Wednesday night in the EFL cup after Antonio Conte rested Pedro, Hazard and Diego Costa.
Despite West Ham not starting a striker, they took the initiative early on and Bilic’s side were rewarded for their intent in the tenth minute. Kouyate rose above John Terry to open the scoring.
West Ham then continued to push for a second goal but were denied by a mixture of sloppy finishing and Chelsea goalie, Asmir Begovic.
They only had to wait three minutes after the restart to consolidate their lead as Fernandes smashed the second goal home.
Conte threw on Pedro, Hazard, and Diego Costa into the fray in an attempt to rescue the match but the best Chelsea could muster was a late goal from Gary Cahill
