The Nigerian Army has disclosed that the Commandant of the Command Secondary School, Ibadan, Col. Anthony Okeyim, died from a fracture to his skull.
Last year, Colonel Anthony Okeyim, was found dead in his apartment inside the school.
He was reportedly murdered by unknown assassins on Monday, December 12, 2016.
Till date, no one has been arrested for the crime.
The Army in a statement signed by the Two Division, Nigerian Army spokesperson, Timothy Antigha said, an autopsy carried out on the deceased revealed that he died as a result of intracranial pressure arising from fracture of the skull.
In the statement, the army dispelled widespread speculations that the commander’s throat was also slit.
According to the statement, search is still on for the perpetrators.
The Army statement reads in part:
“The process is still ongoing and appreciable progress has been made. However, to avoid rumours and speculative reporting, it has become expedient to provide you with an update on the state of the investigation.”
“Consequently, it is my duty to state that an autopsy was conducted and the finding was that the late senior officer died as a result of intracranial pressure arising from fracture of the skull”. (TV360 Nigeria)
