Nigerian president, Muhammadu Buhari, on Thursday May 25, conferred the titles of Grand Commander of the Federal Republic (GCFR) and Grand Commander of the Order of Niger (GCON) honors on the president-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his VP-elect, Kashim Shettima in Abuja.
The GCFR is the highest honour to be conferred on anyone in Nigeria.
The ceremony was attended by the wives and children of the politicians as well as their close friends and associates. President Buhari will on Monday, May 29, hand over power to Tinubu.
