Buhari accepts N30,000 per month as new minimum wage

Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari has accepted the proposal that N30,000 per month will now be the new national minimum wage.

This topic has been on the table for some time now between the Nigerian govt and the Nigerian workers’ unions.

Buhari however gave his approval while receiving the report of the Tripartite Committee on the Review of National Minimum Wage at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

With this approval, a bill is expected to be sent to the National Assembly to effect the change from N18,000 to N30,000.

President of NLC, Ayuba Wabba had earlier suspended the planned nationwide strike.
