Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Ibrahim Tanko Mohammad has resigned, according to reports.
Citing sources, Channels Television confirmed that he resigned on Sunday night on the grounds of ill-health.
When contacted, the Special Adviser on Media and Communication to CJN, Ahuraka Yusuf Isah, said, “All I know is that he’s going to declare open a workshop this morning at the NJI (National Judicial Institute).”
But it was gathered that the CJN, who was billed to declare the workshop organised for Judges opened at the National Judicial Institute (NJI) was represented at the event by a Justice of the Supreme Court, Justice Suleiman Galadima.
It is still not clear at the moment whether he only resigned as CJN or he is also leaving as a justice of the Nigerian Supreme Court.
