The Court of Appeal in Abuja has affirmed the decision of the Federal High Court to deny the bail application of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu.
In its ruling this morning, the three man panel of the Appeal court led by Justice Abdul Aboki, ruled that the lower court was right in denying Kanu bail considering the nature and the circumstances of his case.
“The lower court has the power to exercise its discretion on the matter and the exercise of such discretion by the trial judge did not amount to denial of fair hearing to the defendants. The issues are resolved against the appellants. Ruling of the trial court is hereby upheld.” the judge said
Nnamdi Kanu is standing trial for treason.
