Gunmen kidnap Baptist pastor in Kaduna, threaten to kill him if ransom is not paid in 5 days

Unknown gunmen have kidnapped Reverend Elisha Noma of the Nagarta Baptist Church in Angwan Makiri, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The kidnappers are reportedly demanding ransom be paid within 5 days or he will be killed. The amount they are demanding is not known yet.

The cleric’s son, Emmanuel Elisha, made this known to newsmen today August 14.

“They picked me together with my father. But after a while into the bush, I was released and they went away with my father. One of them was dressed in military camouflage. As they released me, they threatened that if we fail to bring money in five days even though they didn’t mention the specific ransom, they will kill him,” Emmanuel said.

Emmanuel added that the police have since been informed.

This incident comes nearly two weeks after a resident pastor of the Living Faith Church in Angwan Romi, Kaduna, Jeremiah Omolewa, was killed by armed bandits along the Abuja-Kaduna road.
