Coming in is a report that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has at last, filed a 10-count charge against a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Engr. Babachir Lawal and five others.
EFCC also filed a 4-count charge against a former Director General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ayodele Oke, and his wife, Mrs. Folashade Oke.
The charges were said to have been filed on Wednesday. Recall that some of the issues leading to these charges were detected since 2016 by Nigeria’s House of Reps.
In fact President Buhari had sacked the duo of Lawal and Oke in October 2017, following a report of investigations by a panel headed by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, into allegations of fraud leveled against them.
The charges against these duo are coming over 15 months after they were removed from their posts by the President.
