Empty streets as Owerri residents obey IPOB total lockdown order during President Buhari

Residents of Imo state stayed back at their homes today, September 9, even as President Muhammadu Buhari’s arrived the South Eastern state.

This comes after the Indigenous People of Biafra(IPOB) directed all residents of the state to sit at home as a form of protest that the Nigerian leader is not ”welcome ”to the state in solidarity with their leader Nnamdi Kanu, who is still under the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS).

As early as 8 am up to 11 am the streets of Owerri, Imo’s capital was reportedly empty. Major places in the Owerri metropolis including banks, filling stations, schools and markets were completely shutdown.
