A suit seeking to remove Osun governor-elect, Ademola Adeleke as the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been dismissed by an appellate court.
The high court judgement which affirmed Osun State governor-elect, Ademola Adeleke, as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for last Saturday’s governorship election, has been upheld by a Court of Appeal sitting in Akure, the Ondo State capital, Nigeria.
PDP Chieftain, Dotun Babayemi had approached the appellate court after losing a lawsuit in which he challenged the validity of the primary conducted by the national leadership of the party.
Babayemi who was a factional candidate of the party, asked to be declared the substantive candidate of the PDP.
The Appeal court however ruled in favour of Adeleke in a judgement delivered on Wednesday July 20.
