The prelate of Methodist Church of Nigeria, Archbishop Samuel Uche has called for the arrest and prosecution of the leaders of APC over their threats to form a parallel government.
According to Premium Times, the APC has threatened to form a parallel government if the presidential election slated for February 14 is rigged.
Bishop Uche said such calls amount to treason. “They should be in prison because they are committing treason,” he said.
He also asked the armed forces to beam their searchlight on the party’s presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari.
“Any presidential aspirant that misbehaves should be imprisoned for at least 12 years,” he said.
The cleric urged the military to persevere in their efforts to restore peace to the country, Premium Times reported.
“Let me appreciate the Armed Forces. Whenever you hear that people have been killed, there is this temptation to say they’re not doing anything. Yes, we know there are some black legs within the Armed Forces, no doubt about that. Some have been caught, some are being prosecuted,” he said. (Premium Times)
