Anthony Joshua has some prudent advice for Floyd Mayweather Jr. (Picture: Getty/ Instagram) If this whole boxing thing doesn’t work it, Anthony Joshua can always pursue a career as a financial adviser.
The World Heavyweight Champion has made it clear that he isn’t about that splashing-the-cash lifestyle after fellow boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. dropped a cool $18million (£13.6million) on a watch. Anthony, who is worth an estimated £30million, has revealed that he still has a thrifty mindset despite earning a very healthy nest egg.
‘Don’t save what is left after spending, spend what is left after saving #AJBXNG’ the 28-year-old sportsman captioned a snap himself smiling broadly in a blazer and jeans.
His fans welcomed the advice, with one writing: ‘I appreciate this caption hopefully it helps a lot of people.’
Another added: ‘Joshua you need to teach dem that are buying 6.4 billion naira wrist watch’ Maybe Floyd,41, should have talked to Anthony before he purchased the 8 x 47.5mm, 18-carat white gold watch which boasts 260 carats of emerald-cut diamonds. The one-of-a-kind piece, knows as the ‘Billionaire watch’ was made by renowned jeweller Jacob Arabo and created in affiliation with Italian businessman Flavio Briatore, and his Billionaire Lifestyle SARL Company.
Showing off his new jewellery on his Instagram page, the world’s highest paid athlete, wrote: ‘This my new timepiece, it’s called ‘The Billionaire Watch’. If you don’t know about it, google Billionaire Watch. That’s $18 million on the price tag.’
Anthony is not the only person to throw some subtle shade following Mayweather’s extravagant spend.
His frenemy, 50 Cent branded the boxer a ‘fool’ and ‘dumb’ despite his $700m fortune. ‘Man they done found the 1 fool in the world, dumb enough to buy that watch. LOLget the strap’ he wrote alongside a picture of the watch.
