Within twenty four hours, another explosion has occurred at a pipeline manifold in the Omwawriwa axis of Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State on Tuesday.
A similar explosion had rocked the Trans Niger Pipeline (TNP) operated by Shell in Bodo, Gokana Local Government Area of Rivers State on Monday.
The latest incident reportedly occurred at a manifold connecting a federal pipeline deep inside the forest.
The pipeline transports crude oil to Brass in Bayelsa State.
Even though the explosion has yet to be officially confirmed, community sources said they saw massive flames and thick smoke rising from an oil installation in the forest.
These explosions could be as a result of the political crisis rocking Rivers State.
