Reports coming in have it that suspected assassins have allegedly attacked the home of the anti-corruption Tsar, Ibrahim Magu, Wednesday morning, killing a policeman.
According to reports, about 10 armed men stormed the Abuja home of the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ibrahim Magu Wednesday morning.
“The armed men acted like professionals. They were heavily armed. They asked for the EFCC Chairman. They pounced on those in the building after they had disarmed the policeman. One of them later rained bullets on the policeman as the armed men retreated.”
Magu has been a pain in the ass of rich but corrupt politicians and business elites who live virtually on illicit money and stolen public funds. Many of them occupy important and strategic positions.
It may be recalled that since his appointment as the EFCC acting chairman, concerted efforts have been made to either eliminate him using the instruments of the state or outright armed attacks by yet to be identified armed gangs.
Magu, through concerted efforts, has been able to retrieve billions if not trillions of public funds from corrupt leaders leading to increased plots against him.
Today’s attack was the second such attempt on his life in less than one year.
