Former Akwa Ibom governor and ex-Senate Minority Leader under PDP platform but now a chieftain of APC, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has lost his bid to return to the Nigerian Senate.
This was announced on Tuesday afternoon by the Returning Officer, Prof Peter Ogban, at INEC office in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ikot Ekpene Senatorial district, Akpabio lost to Chris Ekpenyong of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Akpabio polled 83,158 while Chris polled 118,215 votes.
