Nigeria’s immediate-past National Security Adviser (NSA), Col. Sambo Dasuki, has been released from the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) also called SSS.
Confirming Dasuki’s release, the ex-NSA’s lead counsel, Mr. Ahmed Raji SAN, at about 8.11pm on Tuesday, said, “He was released a few minutes ago,” according to Punch.
Col. Sambo Dasuki was arrested by Nigeria’s DSS on December 29, 2015 and had remained in custody, in violation of a series of court orders issued for his release.
He has been accused of diverting multi-billion naira meant for security purpose to other unlawful uses. Dasuki was first arraigned in court in 2015, following various allegations of fraud brought against him.
