In a tweet by the Defence Headquarters, the Army authorities said troops succeeded in clearing terrorists out of Madagali, the last of places held by the terrorists in Adamawa.
Earlier, the Nigerian military had expressed optimism that its operations to clear the north east of Boko Haram insurgents would soon be achieved.
Spokesman for the military, Maj. Gen. Chris Olukolade, gave the assurance while speaking with journalists after a tour of major towns recaptured from the insurgents by the military.
He said a large number of communities in the north east have been cleared of the insurgents and the remaining would soon be recovered by the Nigerian troops.
