Reports coming in say that the convener of Concerned Nigerians (CN), Mr. Deji Adeyanju has been admitted to bail by a Kano State Magistrate Court.
Former Nigerian Minister of Aviation, Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode confirmed the news that the activist was granted bail in the sum of N500,000 and two sureties.
The court also ordered him to deposit his international passport as part of the conditions of his bail.
Mr. Fani- Kayode, on his Twitter page wrote: “Great news that Adeyanju Deji has been granted bail after spending over 60 days in a Kano prison simply because he spoke truth to power. We give thanks to God. I am so proud of this deeply courageous and inspiring young man. Head bloodied but not bowed!”
Adeyanju had spent 63 days in prison before his release was granted on Monday.
The activist was arrested and detained over a case said to have been decided upon and finalised by the Kano State High Court in 2009.
