ACA alias Obamacare survives again at the US Supreme Court

Legal

For the third time, the Affordable Care Act (ACA) also known as the Obama Care has survived at the United States Supreme Court.

The US Supreme Court based its decision on ‘locus standi’ (good standing or a right to appear in a court or a right to be heard).

The court ruled 7-2 that the red states who brought the case, don’t have standing to challenge the law’s individual mandate. The opinion delivered Thursday showed that the states did not show a “past or future injury” related to the enforcement of the mandate.

Justices Neil Gorsuch and Samuel Alito voted against the decision.

By this ruling, more than 20 million Americans are saved again from not having heath insurance.

The ruling is indeed for the people.
