The Headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC was gutted by fire.
According to reports, the fire which began from the building behind the Press Centre inside the commission’s compound, started at about 12 noon today.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
Fire incidents are recurring too much in government offices in Nigeria at the recent time.
Recall that a few days ago, the headquarters of the Corporate Affairs Commission located in Maitama, Abuja, was gutted by fire.
The fire is said to have engulfed the last floor of the seven storey building, destroying valuables and other items.
Again, fire incident destroyed a section of the office of the Accountant General of the Federation (AGF) in Abuja, a few days ago.
