A former Chairman of the Ikeja Lagos Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Barrister Monday Onyekachi Ubani, this morning lamented that President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo are putting their supporters to shame by refusing to keep to their pre-election promise to publicly declare their assets.
“These assets must be made public. They should take away our shame,” Barrister Ubani told Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, who featured as a special guest on a Radio Continental Lagos breakfast programme via telephone.
He informed Mr. Adesina that people have been calling people like him who campaigned for Buhari and Osinbajo to be voted during the March 28, 2015 presidential election partly based on their promise to publicly declare their assets.
“I am sure Mr. President will do the right thing,” replied Mr. Adesina after the panelists refused to buy his argument that the Code of Conduct Bureau was yet to verify claims made by Buhari and Osinbajo in their assets declaration
